Many people choose Google Chrome as their preferred browser especially if they make use of Googles other services regularly. Personally though I prefer Firefox. The reason for is fairly straight forward, Firefox put's less stress on your system especially your RAM/memory. With Google Chrome the recommended amount of RAM you need is about 4GB whereas Firefox tends to hog less.

The problem with many browsers is the optimisation, how well it performs using as little resources as possible. For me Firefox does that much better than Chrome, specifically when you have more than one tab open or you have multiple applications running at once. Having everything in one place is nice, it's just with the improvement of mail applications such as outlook and the new Mail app for Windows 10, having it linked through browsers is becoming more and more pointless. You'll also find that many email providers already have apps in the Microsoft App store. In a nut shell this means everything is moving away from web browsers. I understand the people who prefer to use the web based versions as I also use them often.
The reason it seems like I'm comparing Mozilla Firefox to Google Chrome is because Chrome is known widely as the best browser. What better than to compare it to the best.
Firefox as a browser is great, definitely in everyone's top three. The speed of Firefox may be worse than Chrome but it's negligible at best, you won't even be able to tell the difference. Firefox also has a large amount of features, including extensions/add-ons, apps, a new messenger service and a syncing service.

The add-ons for Firefox are numerous and incredibly easy to install, though you have to pick and choose as some are better than others. The add-ons also have little to no affect on the speed and stability of the browser which is another plus. Apps is something I've rarely looked at which was a mistake as they are really useful especially if you like music, enjoy using social media or like playing the odd game. Both the apps and add-ons for Firefox are constantly being improved and added to, allowing for a smoother experience. The messenger and video service seems fairly well thought out and works well, definitely beneficial to those who don't like Skype or Face time. Although I'm not so sure how secure it is. Lastly we come to the syncing service which allows you to sync your desktop browser with another device. For me this was really helpful as I could simply export my history, saved passwords, add-ons and bookmarks without to much effort. All this simplifying is going to make me lazy.
In conclusion Firefox is a fast, feature full browser with a simple layout and is very efficient. I will also add that it's a non-profit that supports many people around the world. What's not to like.
