The issue in question is the speed in which your computer starts-up, the amount of time it takes for you to get to the desktop. For many this can be an issue especially if you have 4GB RAM/memory or less. The reason for slow start-up times is many and not everything will work as not everyone will have the same problem. I'm going to give you a few tips on how to decrease start-up times.

Tip Number 1 - Improve the components
My first tip is simple, improve the components. The most likely cause of slowness will be RAM and your Hard Drive. If possible increasing your RAM will have a large impact, not only start-up times, but also overall performance. Buying a new Hard Drive has the same effect. I would recommend either an SSD or Hybrid Drive as both of these are a vast improvement over mechanical Drives. Bare in mind that SSD's have a finite life span and tend to wear out far quicker than conventional/mechanical Drives. If you don't like the sound of that then go for a Hybrid as it's a combination of the two.

2. Clear the cache and registry
This should ensure that your computer has enough RAM available to function at high speeds. You can clear the cache and registry with CCleaner. When you click on an application and it opens it stores information in the cache, making the application open that much quicker the next time. With browsers it's fairly similar, you can see your cached files increase drastically as with every site you enter, information will be cached to make accessing the site next time much quicker. If you had 3GB RAM and you had cached 1.9GB then your computer only has about 1.1GB left. This means your PC will likely have to access your much slower Hard Drive to carry out its task.

3. Make sure that the minimum number of applications are in the start up process
In Windows 10 you can access your start-up tab in Task Manager by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Delete and select Task Manager. With Windows 7 if you search msconfig in search programmes and files and click enter you'll find the start-up tab there. I would recommend disabling anything that isn't important to the system and has a high impact. Some applications such as Skype, Spotify and Dropbox can only be disabled from within the application itself. I would definitely do this as they have a serious impact on performance.
